Managed security
Security needs an owner.
One with a name.
Fractional executive leadership for your security strategy and risk governance. One named lead on your side of the table, for the slice of the week the job needs, who owns the risk register, the board report, and that questionnaire your biggest customer sent on Friday.

Every one of our people holds active certifications on the platforms they work on.
Sentrello is our only partnership. On the clouds, it's our people who hold the certifications. We don't claim a partner tier, and we'll keep saying so until that changes.
Where this usually starts
Right now, security belongs to whoever spotted the problem
Nobody was ever made responsible, so it’s spread between the IT lead, the finance director who signed the cyber insurance form, and the developer who happened to notice the open storage bucket.
- Your biggest customer’s security questionnaire is long, due Friday, and being answered by whoever’s free.
- The board asks if you’re secure. The honest answer is a shrug with a slide behind it.
- The insurance renewal asked about MFA, backups and an incident plan, and somebody ticked yes to all of it.
- There’s a risk register. It was written for the last audit and hasn’t been opened since.
- Each security decision gets made at the moment it turns urgent, by whoever’s standing closest.
What we do instead
One named person owns it, for part of the week
You get a security lead with a name, a face and a regular slot in your calendar. They hold the risk register, set the direction, and answer for it in front of your board and your customers. Not a quarterly report. Someone who reads the questionnaire on Friday morning and sends it back with evidence attached, because they already know where the evidence lives. The engineers behind them are ours too, so the register describes how you really run, not how somebody once hoped you did.
How it works
How fractional security leadership works
Most companies have never had step one.
Meet your lead
One named person from the first conversation on. They learn the business before the systems: what you sell, who to, and what would really hurt if it stopped. Priorities come from that, not from a vendor’s top-ten list.
Write a risk register that’s true
Every risk we can find, with its likelihood, impact, owner and what’s being done about it. Our engineers check the claims, so the first version tends to be uncomfortable and the second is shorter.
Set direction and budget
A plan for the year that says what gets fixed first and why, priced against the risk it removes. You can defend every line to the board, because it was written to be defended.
Report in the board’s language
A regular update on the exposure, what changed and what needs a decision, delivered remotely or in the room. We’re at board meetings across Denver Metro to Colorado Springs routinely, and anywhere else by arrangement, travel quoted. If the board isn’t asking sharper questions after a few of these, we’re doing it wrong.
Answer when someone asks
The customer questionnaire, the insurer’s renewal, the auditor’s opening meeting, the incident that needs a decision on a Sunday. All of it goes to one person, who answers because it’s theirs.
What a vCISO covers
The risk register
Living, owned and revisited. Every entry has a name against it and a date by which something changes. When the board asks what keeps you up at night, this is the answer, and it’s current.
Security strategy
Where you need to be in a year, in what order, for what money. Written against your actual risks rather than a framework’s table of contents, so every expensive thing has a reason you can say out loud.
Board and executive reporting
A regular report a non-technical director can read and act on. Same format every time, so trends show up and nobody has to relearn how to read it.
Customer security questionnaires
Answered by the person who owns the controls, with evidence attached, inside the deadline. The answers are kept, so the next one starts mostly done.
Policies people actually follow
Acceptable use, access, incident response, data handling. Short enough to read, specific enough to enforce, and reviewed on a schedule rather than the night before an audit.
Insurers, auditors and regulators
Renewal forms, auditor request lists, a regulator’s letter. One person fields them all, and knows the difference between what the form asks and what you can prove.
Related
Compliance Management
We audit your setup against HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2 and ISO 27001, get you ready, and keep you there. The controls run all year and the evidence falls out of the running, so nobody spends audit week rebuilding twelve months from memory.
Virtual CIO (vCIO)
Strategic IT budgeting, roadmapping and technology planning, from someone who knows your business by name. Every vendor contract gets read before it renews, and there’s a person in your board meeting translating in both directions.
Incident Response & Digital Forensics
Immediate containment, breach investigation and evidence gathering while the attack is still underway. Set it up as a retainer and your first call is a call, not a contract negotiation, and the cleanup won’t destroy the proof you’ll need later.
Who owns it today?
Who answers for security now, what the board’s been told, and what’s due next, whether that’s an audit, a renewal or a questionnaire.
Tell us that and we’ll describe what your register would look like, where the first quarter would focus, and how we’d scope the engagement. The quote is built for you. There’s no package to pick from.
