Monthly client reports that used to eat the first week of every month

A marketing agency owed nineteen retainer clients a report by the fifth. A pipeline fills the numbers, an AI agent drafts the commentary, and an account manager reads every word before it goes.

This shows the kind of work we do. It is not a client engagement, and the business in it is invented.

Where it started

The problem

Every report meant an afternoon copying figures out of ad platforms into slides, then two paragraphs on what changed and why.

The figures took about three hours a client. The paragraphs took longer, because they were always written last, and usually at night.

What changed

What we did

On the first of the month a pipeline pulls each client's numbers into a warehouse and fills the report template. That part needs no AI at all.

The writing is where an agent earns its keep. It drafts commentary from the numbers plus the account manager's notes for the month, and it's instructed to say when it doesn't know why something moved rather than invent a reason.

Nothing reaches a client unread. The account manager edits the draft, and both versions are kept, so every month we can see exactly where the agent was wrong.

Reading that difference is the managed part of the job. We review it monthly, tighten the instructions, and retire any phrasing clients have started to recognize.
