  • League standings live in a spreadsheet one volunteer maintains, and handicaps change whenever they get round to it.
  • Birthday parties are booked by phone, with the pizza order on a separate sticky note.
  • The scoring server is a beige tower in the back office that nobody is allowed to switch off.
  • Lane fees, the bar tab and arcade credit are three separate payments at the end of the night.
  • Online booking shows a lane free that has been held for a league since September.
